Summary
Pencil drawing on tracing paper (figure drawing); two women, a younger and an older one, both dressed in wide gowns, the younger leaning on a round form on the right side of the picture turning her head to the left, the older, on the left side, sitting on a pedestal, an open book on her knees, turning around and leaning forward to the other one, so her face is seen in profile, on the background, between the figures; a winged putti that is holding an open book with the letters; 'IAM? NO/ PRO..'

At Saltram by 1962 and given to NT as part of the endowment by Montagu Brownlow Parker (1878-1962), 5th Earl of Morley.
