Summary
One of a pair of giltwood open armchairs, English, late 18th century. Upholstered in white and yellow striped textile. The rectangular padded back panel beneath a moulded toprail and between fluted columnar uprights topped by flower-carved blocks. The arms downswept and padded, and raised on spriral-twist baluster-turned arm supports, either side of a bow-fronted stuff-over seat. Raised on four turned, tapering and reeded legs.
