Summary
A mahogany night table, English, circa 1790. The top with a low gallery to the rear and sides, pierced with quatrefoils, and the sides also pierced with carry handles. The upper cupboard enclosed by a pair of sliding tambour doors, above a commode drawer fronted by a shaped drawer front, and with shaped side aprons. On chamfered square-section supports.
Provenance
Date of introduction to Saltram not recorded but at Saltram by 1951 and accepted by HM Treasury in lieu of full payment of Death Duty from the Executors of Edmund Robert Parker (1877 - 1951), 4th Earl of Morley and transferred to the National Trust in 1957.
