Summary
A mahogany wash stand, or basin stand, English, late 18th century and later. Of square form, with sunken top above a flower-pierced fretwork apron. The middle tier above a small frieze drawer and a further interlaced quatrefoil and lozenge lattice-pierced fretwork apron. The legs square-section and heavily chamfered; joined by a concave-sided platform stretcher centred by a beaded reserve for a basin.

Date of acquisition introduction to Saltram not recorded but at Saltram by 1951 and accepted by HM Treasury in lieu of full payment of Death Duty from the Executors of Edmund Robert Parker (1877 - 1951), 4th Earl of Morley.
