Summary
A mahogany and brass duet stand, English, late 18th/early 19th century. The stand with two lozenge lattice-filled slopes, each with a rest at their bottom edge and resting on a swiveling central bar, and with two adjustable brass candleholders. All rising and falling on a central brass stem set into a fluted and ring-turned shaft on three outswept supports terminating in brass caps and castors.
Provenance
Not original to Saltram and its collection. Recorded on early National Trust index cards as 'purchased' by the National Trust at some date after 1957.
