Summary
A mahogany drop-leaf dining table, Irish / English, circa 1730 - 1740. The fixed solid mahogany top fitted with one drop leaf supported by a swinging gate. One short frieze fitted with a short drawer with a shaped and engraved backplate. Raised on five (including the gate) cabriole legs carved to the knee with a leaf and a harebell and on trefid pad feet.
Provenance
At Saltram by 1951, and accepted by HM Treasury in lieu of full payment of Death Duty from the Executors of Edmund Robert Parker (1877 - 1951), 4th Earl of Morley.
