Summary
Watch stand, lead glazed earthenware, oval base, the stand for the watch at the centre with a circular cut out surmounted with a pair of birds, flanked with three figures of dancers wearing chequered and striped sashes, the central figure seated and the others standing, the standing figures draping a floral garland around the opening for the watch, Staffordshire, 1850-60; the bodices colored with blue glaze, the remaining painted with overglaze enamels in red, green, blue, orange and brown, the base coloured green to resemble grass, the watch stand with moulded garland of flowers picked out in red, green and brown enamels.
