Summary
One of four coffee cups from a set Paris cups and saucers, hard paste porcelain, decorated with a running border pattern of flowers and foliage in enamels and gilding. Some pieces are marked with a capial 'A' in underglaze blue, one cup is marked with crossed swords in underglaze blue - probably a replacement. Rue Thiroux factory, 1775 - 1800
Provenance
No documentary evidence of acquisition but by descent to Edmund Robert Parker (1878-1951), 4th Earl of Morley and accepted as part of the more important contents in lieu of payment of Estate Duty and transferred to NT in 1957
