Dessert service, porcelain, comprising 58 pieces including plates, dishes, bowls, baskets and ice pails, made in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province, China, early 19th century, decorated in pink, purple, red, green and yellow enamels and gold with scattered flowers, fruits and leaves surrounded by borders of similar but more densely arranged flowers, fruits and leaves.

Although made in China, the shapes and decoration of this dessert service are European in style, in the neoclassical taste.

Accepted by HM Government in lieu of inheritance tax and allocated to the National Trust, 1957.
