Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Called Cecil Matthews, Mrs Talbot but really Mary de Cardonell, Countess Talbot (after Vanderbank) by Dorofield Hardy (fl.1882 – 1920), after John Vanderbank (London 1694 - London 1739). A full-length portrait of the only daughter and sole heiress of Adam de Cardonnel, Secretary of War after a 1760 John Vanderbank portrait. She is in a white satin dress, facing, with her head slightly to the right. Her right hand rests on a ledge beside a straw hat.
