Summary
A terrazzo wall sofa, British, designed by Patrick Gwynne, circa 1960s, the long rectangular seat flanked by two raised flat armrest surfaces, the sofa affixed to the wall and supported at the front on two black-painted steel legs, the seat with three loose cushions and three rectangular cushions form the backrest, each backrest cushion hung from two hooks, the cushions covered in striped fabric The wall sofa designed en suite with the square low table (NT 864306), the rectangular low table (NT 864319), the circular pedestal table (NT 864314), and the wall bench (NT 864317) found at The Homewood. Patrick Gwynne had the seat and backrest cushions made for the wall sofa, the cushions match those found on the wall bench (NT 864317) and four steel and mesh chairs (NT 864308). Seat stuffing has been replaced.
Provenance
The Homewood and some of its contents were given to the National Trust by Patrick Gwynne in 1999.
