Summary
Unsigned French eight-day mantel clock. White enamel dial with Arabic hour and fifteen-minute numerals, 'MADE IN FRANCE' at the six o'clock position, '8 DAYS' below the twelve o'clock position, and blued steel hands. Single train, spring-driven movement with three straight pillars and vertically mounted clubtooth-lever platform escapement. '1938' stamped on the backplate and '7544' stamped on the going-barrel bridge. The platform is of steel construction, the escape wheel and lever are unjewelled, running instead in press-fit brass bearings. Domed wooden case with square, chrome-plated feet.
