Summary
Fan. Leaf of chicken skin, torn, decorated with classical scene in ink, bacchanalian procession. On reverse three medallions of small landscapes and figures, interspersed with foliage and putti. Sticks pierced and decorated with mother-of-pearl. Probably a mourning fan. C18.
Provenance
Part of the Bristol Collection. Acquired by the National Trust in 1956 under the auspices of the National Land Fund, later the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
