Summary
One of a pair of clappers. Made from a length of bamboo cane and painted green. Hollowed out with top end cut away. Metal bands at top, centre and bottom. Centre band stamped with the date '1939', bottom band stamped 'MYSORE KHEDDAS'. Brass double-headed eagle on one side of the bottom half and a brass elephant on the oppostie side.
Provenance
Part of the Bristol Collection. Acquired by the National Trust in 1956 under the auspices of the National Land Fund, later the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
