Summary
A stained oak and leather porters chair or enclosed armchair, English circa 1780 With an arched canopy upholstered in buttoned black leather with a loose cushion seat and a pair of cupboard doors to the base, the arms with scrolled terminals and raised on brass castors. From the Bristol's London House, 6, St. James's Square.
Provenance
Part of the Bristol Collection. Acquired by the National Trust in 1956 under the auspices of the National Land Fund, later the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
