Summary
A chinoiserie polychrome painted and gilt brass mounted cabinet on stand, England, early 18th century The cabinet with a pair of cupboard doors enclosing an arrangement of eleven drawers and with brass carrying handles to the sides. the whole profusely decorated with chinoiserie scenes amid floral sprays and foliage with chased gilt brass brackets and hinge and lock plates. The cabinet raised on an associated ebonised and chinoiserie decorated parcel gilt deal stand with cabriole legs and pad feet, poor condition.
Provenance
Part of the Bristol Collection. Acquired by the National Trust in 1956 under the auspices of the National Land Fund, later the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
