Summary
Print, mezzotint engraving, Lord John Hervey, 2nd Baron Hervey of Ickworth, PC, MP (1696-1743) (after Jean-Baptiste van Loo) by John Faber the younger (Gravenhage 1684 – London 1756). A copy of portrait in Entrance Hall at Ickworth. Three-quarter length portrait, seated, wearing long coat with decorative buttons on front and sleeves, over shirt with frilled sleeves and cuffs, knee length breeches and stockings. He holds the Privy Purse to show his Office of Lord Privy Seal, 1714. Hervey crest below engraving. Ebonised and gilded frame, mounted and glazed. Label on back 'J. Davey and Sons, 44 Duke Street, Liverpool'.

Purchased in 2001 from Mr Whitworth, a cousin of the Hon David Erskine and a descendant of the Revd Lord Arthur Hervey, Bishop of Bath and Wells (1808-1894)
