Full description
Percussion shotgun, English c1850. Unsigned. The iron barrel of Damascus twist construction, formed in 2-stages, octagonal at the breech, then round to the muzzle, with bead foresight.The under-rib and ramrod pipes missing. Retained to the stock by 1 barrel slide. Under-rib missing, the ramrod pipe soldered to the barrel. The percussion nipple missing. Wooden ramrod with a brass tip. Barrel length 81.1cm. Calibre 18mm. Walnut half stock with a chequered wrist and forestock. Iron furniture comprising; butt-plate, trigger guard (distorted) and 1 ramrod pipe. White metal fore-end cap. Percussion lock with engraved flat plate. The hammer missing. Overall length: 123cm.

Part of the Bristol Collection. Acquired by the National Trust in 1956 under the auspices of the National Land Fund, later the National Heritage Memorial Fund
