Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Alfred Ogle Hansard RN (1817 - d. after 1841) by Samuel Lane (Kings Lynn 1780 – Ipswich 1859), 1830s. A head-and-shoulders portrait of the great uncle of Mrs Diana Helen Woolner (1908 -1999), donor of the property to National Trust in 1938. He was her grandfather's eldest brother and died from fever on a slaving voyage.
