Summary
An oak folding table, Salisbury, circa 1630. The hinged canted top above a frieze carved with foliate lunettes and containing a drawer, foliate arcades with berried leaf upper corners and scroll lower corners, standing on column legs joined by an undertier.
Full description
This type of table is often called a 'credence' table which refers to the table by an altar for storing the communion bread and wine prior to consecration. Many have a semi-circular top.
