Summary
Scythe sharpener. A wooden scythe sharpener, tapering to a point at one end with a square cross section to the shaft. A shaped handle to the top. Often mistaken as a wooden peg, the shaft of the tool would be dipped in animal fat and then in sand. The abrasive surface was then used to sharpen the scythe blade.
