Summary

Oil painting on canvas, Wife of a Yeoman Farmer, British School, circa 1830. A portrait of a farmer's wife, facing to the left with hands folded. She wears a white muslin close fitting bonnet with ruff around face and set in striped ribbons, and wears a black shawl over a v-necked bodice with an inner white chemise.

Provenance

A visiting dealer identified painting as one he bought from Witheride, Devon.
