Summary

Piece of fabric upholstery to chair. Undyed linen warp and crimson, mid and pale pink and ivory silk cut velvet pile warp. Green/gold and silver grey silk and metal thread wefts. Warp cut velvet ground compound weft faced motifs. Renaissance design. Front of back cut to shape with tack marks on all sides.

Provenance

Burley on the Hill - Pratts, London. There was just one of the chairs covered in this fabric which Lady Labouchere removed c.1969.
