Caption
This abstract composition is made up of sections of paper stuck on to canvas to form geometric shapes. It was bought by the diplomat, Sir George Labouchere in 1958 from an exhibition in Brussels where he was foreign ambassador. Vasarely lived and worked in Paris and he was influential in the development of abstract art in Europe during the 1950s and 1960s.
