Oil painting on panel, Francis Wolryche (1563-1614), aged 28, British (English) School, 1591 Inscribed (upper left): GLORIA/Te mea mens sequitur:/Ano.DÑI:1591;(upper right) FELICITAS:/Tecum mea vota quiescant/AETTATIS SUÆ : 28; (on reverse): Francis Wolryche Esqr. of Dudmaston in ye County of Salop. A half-length portrait, of a young man, aged 28 turned slightly to the left, gazing at the spectator, brown hair, ginger moustache and small beard, wearing a black doublet, with gold embroidered lace collar and cuffs and gorget. (Note: device of winged flaming hearts in gold on collar and cuffs). Gold ring on little finger of right hand with circular stone. He was the son of William Wolryche (1536-66) and Dorothea Poyner, married Margaret Bromley, daughter of Sir George Bromley of Hallon. Father of Sir Thomas Wolryche, 1st Bt (1598-1668). Tomb in Quatt church.
