Caption

A hatchment is placed first over the entrance of the house in mourning and is then moved to the church of burial when the period of mourning is complete (12 months being traditional).

Summary

Drawing: A Charles II coat of arms of curled paper 'quilling'. The crest is of the Langley Family, quartered with other families. In a surround of scrolling foliage. A motto below, 'El March the 23 1692'. Glazed in square ebonised frame.
