Caption
Sir George and Lady Labouchere had a shared enthusiasm for ceramics. Lady Labouchere inherited this and many other fine pieces from her Darby ancestors, and George built up an impressive collection of Chinese ceramics himself. In 1949 LadyLabouchere wrote home: “George is mad keen on Chinese porcelain. I am so pleased he will be happy at 90 discussing pots!”
Summary
One of a pair of early Qianlong famille rose egg shell porcelain tea bowls on a tall foot ring with slightly lipped rim. Enamelled in colours with scroll painting of landscape reserved on ruby ground and prunus sprays, interior floral motif.
