Summary
Wall painting, West Wall from landing to first floor level. Wall divided in two vertical sections. The first section shows a female figure in a niche, carrying a candle with her index finger to her lips. Sometimes referred to as the figure of Silence. Separated from the female figure by a term figure and with a frame is a scene which shows a representation of the ‘Banishment of Hagar and Ishmael’ (Gen 21: 9 – 11). Below this is a painted panel of scrolling rinceau
