Summary
Portrait miniature, watercolour on ivory stuck on card, Abbot Upcher (1784-1819) attributed to William Grimaldi (Shoreditch 1751 – London 1830). Half-length portrait of a young man, turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, in a brown (unfinished) cloak with blue lining over a red coat and white shirt with a broad open collar. His left hand (purpose) holds draperyu. Right eye hazel, left eye blue, thick fair curly hair brushed upwards, fresh pink face, aged 23-30. Brown scumbled background,lit from the right. The builder of Sheringham Hall.
