Summary
Oil painting on panel, Donor and Five Sons, In the manner of Pieter Pourbus the Elder (Gouda 1523 - Bruges 1584), 19th century. Full-length portraits of a man in black kneeling with hands together in prayer in a church interior with one son, also kneeling in prayer, in a red cloak to the right of him, and four sons, kneeling in prayer behind him on the left, only two of whose faces are fully visible.
Provenance
Accepted by HM Treasury in lieu of inheritance tax and transferred to the National Trust under the terms of the will of Mrs Christopher Hussey (1907-2006)
