Summary
One of a matched pair of tray-top night commodes, English, circa 1780. This one oak, the other mahogany, each with pierced carrying handles and enclosed by a pair of doors above a pull-out section, one fitted with a chamber pot, the other converted to a drawer.
Provenance
Part of the Hussey collection. The contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 2006 by Mrs. Elizabeth Hussey.
