Local fishing wooden notice board, late 18c, signed 'William Thornborrow Surveyor', regarding the rights over a particular stretch of waterway; the lettering has been preserved by wasps and bees masticating the timber surface but leaving the painted lettering untouched, a unique example of woodcarving by insects.
