Summary
Tapestry, wool and silk, 5 warps per cm, Verdure (fragment), Flemish, c. 1660-1680. A landscape with water falling over rocks in the centre, plants silhouetted against the water in the foreground, and a calm river flowing among trees further back. The tapestry is a fragment from a larger piece. A wide blue galloon has been applied around all four sides.

On loan to Rufford Old Hall from Major the Hon. John Breckinridge Fermor-Hesketh (1917-1961); by descent to Mrs J.I. Robinson; purchased by the National Trust from the executors of her estate, 2012.
