Summary
A mahogany serpentine dressing chest, English, circa 1765 The shaped top with moulded edge above four long drawers flanked by canted corners carved with blind fret work. The top drawer fitted with a brushing slide retracting to reveal an adjustable writing slope which reverses as a dressing mirror and with lidded compartments including a ring compartment and further open recesses. The whole raised on bracket feet and with brass cast scrolling drop handles.
