Summary
A keyed flute, comprising six parts. Plain turned boxwood with ivory mounts, there are slight swellings at the joints. The swellings at the foot joint is slightly accentuated to allow for the mounting of the key. The key is of silver and is made in the square shape, it is closed-standing. It is mounted in the eighteenth century fashion by a pin attached to a collar formed from the wood of the instrument. The ivory mounts are decorated with simple raised moulding, with the exception of the mount at the end which is left plain, and the cap which is decorated with turned pattern of eccentric circles. The airtight joints are bound with waxed help.
