Summary
Chimney board, wooden frame, covered with painted paper on a canvas backing, nearly en suite with the hangings. The design, painted in green, pink and white on blue, has a central oval framework of trailing plants with flowers which encloses a scene depicting flowering plants, two birds and two butterflies. The surrounding space is filled with trailing plants having chrysanthemums and other blooms, the design being very closely based on that of the Chinese painted taffeta.
