Summary
One of a set of nineteen chairs, originally twenty-four. Painted beech with cane seat and back. The cartouche-shaped back has a cane panel painted with zig-zag lines in green and white. The seat-rail, rounded at the back and having a serpentine front rail, with corners, has similarly painted cane panel. The seat-rail is fluted, with circular paterae at the corners. The construction of the back is in the French manner, with the top-rail tenoned into the uprights. Straight, square, slightly tapering front legs, back legs slightly splayed; fluted decoration. Square feet.
