Summary
one of a set of four hall bench seats. Carved wood, painted white. Flat straight, seat, upholstered in blue leather; no back. Rolled over ends upholstered in blue leather, the wooden edges carved with a relief of scrolls terminating in a patera. Seat rail decorated with paterae. Slightly curving leg at each corner, carved with a ram's head and trailing tusks at the knee, flanked by scrolling acanthus, and terminating in a hairy paw foot. Two additional straight fluted legs at the front with smaller ram's head and paw feet. One seat rail is pine, one mahogany and two oak. They all differ slightly in length as do the bays of the wall against which they stand.
