Summary
Print, engraving, William Villiers, later 2nd Earl of Jersey (c.1682-1721) and his sister Mary Villiers, later Lady Lansdowne (d.1735) (after Sir Godfrey Kneller) by John Smith (Daventry 1652 - Northampton 1743). Inscribed 'The Lord Villiers and Lady Mary Villiers, his sister.' In a landscape with trees, Lord Villiers is standing on a stone plinth, a long spear in his right hand, his left hand resting on a basin fed by the spring behind. His sister is sitting next to him, with her right hand she touches the spear with a string of flowers, with her left hand she is holding a lamb which is sitting on her lap.
