Summary
Cover to a Vincennes 'bleu lapis' cylindrical tankard ('pot a boire'), soft-paste porcelain, the two heart-shaped cartouches are painted with standing birds and birds in flight within finely chased gold frames issuing sprays of flowers entwined on trellis and gilt dental rims, the cover with a carnation finial similar decoration, French, 1753.
