Summary
Print etching on paper, Les Douceurs de l''Automne (The Sweetness of Autumn), engraved by Pierre Charles Canot (c.1710-1777) after Jean Baptiste-Pillement (1728-1808) and published by Charles Leviez, Paris and London, 1759 Four figures in the foreground stand around a barrel, drinking. To the left, figures are seated at a table under trees. River with shipping in the background. The print originally former part of a series of four prints of the seasons, but has been trimmed into an oval. A copy of the complete print , including title and publishing details is held by the British Museum, BM 1854,1020.1660. NT 769802 and 769803 are two other parts of the set.
