Summary
Tiffany Studios Inkwell from New York, c.1900. This glass inkwell is believed to have belonged to Carrie Kipling, known by Rudyard as the ‘Commandress in Chief’ of Bateman’s. Carrie was an essential partner in his career, giving practical advice on publishing and copyright decisions, as well as managing the house and its estate. The square opalescent green glass inkwell overlaid with patinated bronze panels of stylised vegetation. Marked TIFFANY STUDIO, NEW YORK. Numbered 45.
