Summary
An oak draw-leaf table, English, in late 16th/early 17th century style. The top and bottom associated. The top modern, the base with some late 16th/early 17th century elements. The rectangular top fitted underneath with a pair of pull-out leaves, above plain friezes and raised on four block- and baluster-turned legs joined by plain stretchers.
Provenance
Listed in the Dining Room in the Inventory taken at Bateman's in 1939. Bequeathed by Caroline Starr Balestier, Mrs Rudyard Kipling (1862-1939) with Bateman’s and its contents.
