Summary
An oak draw-leaf, or 'withdrawing', table, English, late 16th/early 17th century and later. The cleated top board above a pair of end draw-leaves, on lopers, above a reeded frieze, and raised on four block and 'cup-and-cover' turned legs, topped by leafy and Ionic capitals. With foot stretchers.
Provenance
Listed in the Large Hall in the inventory taken at Bateman's in 1939. Bequeathed by Caroline Starr Balestier, Mrs Rudyard Kipling (1862-1939) with Bateman’s and its contents.
