Summary
Postcard - Askern Church. Handwritten on the front reads '5102Y.J.V.' (last two letters encircled). Printed in pale blue in on the back of the card is the text 'SOUVENIR POST CARD' in the top middle, and along the left side 'Valentine's Series Printed in Great Britain'. In the top right hand corner there is a green halfpenny stamp, which is slightly obscured by a stamp in black ink that appears to be from Askern. To the left of the stamp, there is another black ink postage stamp that reads 'DONCASTER 1.15PM JY22 07'. Handwriting on the left hand side (written sideways) reads: 'The are stopping a little longer so will be back with you a little longer. had a bad thunder storm last night'. Address on the right, which is written on lines printed in pale blue ink reads: Mrs Straw Marketplace Worksop Askern Church, built in 1852, is today an Anglican Church in the open evangelical tradition, known as St. Peter's.
