Summary
Postcard - St Johns (labeled by hand on the bottom right hand side 'INT. ST. JOHNS. WORKSOP.' and on the left 'TAYLOR PHOTO'). Printed on the back of the post card in black ink, centred at the top 'POST CARD.' is written. Beneath this, a horizontal line is printed. Underneath this line, on the left reads, 'This space may be used for communication' and on the right (divided by a vertical line) 'The address only to be written here'. In the top right hand corner 'STAMP HERE' is printed. Pictured here is the interior of St John's church, Worksop, the altar is seen centered in the background at the end of the aisle, from the perspective of the back of the church. St John’s church was built by public subscription and consecrated in 1869, in order to accommodate the overflow from the high church Priory.The Straw brothers worshipped here later on in their lives, and William Straw MA wrote and released 'St John’s Church 1869-1969. A Centenary History', in 1969, which was published by R Martin & Co Ltd, Worksop.
