Summary
One of four sepia postcards of views around Fort Augustus, titled 'Fort Augustus from West'. Depicting a canal with buildings surrounding it, with mountains in the background. Postmarked on front and back, written to Mrs Straw by William Jnr from Inverness, August 1925. Stored with nine other postcards, in a brown envelope labelled 'Tuck's Postcards Six beautiful view postcards of Fort Augustus from the latest photographs published by Robert Cameron, walking stick manufacturer, Fort Augustus'. Writing: 'Mrs Straw, 7 Blyth Grove, Worksop, Notts. Columba Hotel, Inverness, Sun 23 Aug 1925. We travelled by steamer from Oban here yesterday: it took us from 8am to 7pm. I did not get your letter at Glasgow but Walt got his at Oban. We go to Edinburgh on Tue & leave Wed morning by [1?] train. We shall break journey at York for two hours. Arrive Worksop 7.48. Best love W.S. The view is half-way along Caledonian Canal.'
