Summary

One of two clear glass bottles with flat ridged backs and screw lids of 'Scrubb's cloudy ammonia, cleans anything and everything'. A large white paper label covers the front and sides, on the front a blue and red printed design within an oblong border 'INVALUABLE WASHING SILK STOKINGS' vertically up the left side 'REMOVES ALL DIRT' along the top and down the right 'HALVES THR LABOUR OF WASHING-UP'. At the top a circular design with 'FOR HOUSEHOLD CLEANING, THE LAUNDRY, STAINS & GREASE SPOTS & THE TOILET' along the outer edge and 'SCRUBB'S CLOUDY AMMONIA REGISTERED TRADE MARK' within. In the centre Two union jack flags on poles crossed at the base an arm either side points to the top centre slogan 'CLEANS ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING', beneath the flags 'TRY IT IN YOUR BATH'. A banner at the base of the design states 'LIGHTENS ALL HOUSEWORK'. In the bottom section on the right the royal crest 'by Appointment to the late King George V.' and above 'MANUFACTURED BY:'. On the right 'SCRUBB & Co Ltd LONDON, S.W.19.' a sticky label covers the information beneath with 'SUPPLIED BY F.H.WYCHERLEY M.P.S., P.S.M.O., F.I.O. Chemist and Optician, 39, Bridge Street, WORKSOP.' printed in black and at the very bottom '(NAME AND ADDRESS OF RETAIL SELLER MUST BE STATED HERE)'. On the left side in red; 'BEWARE OF IMITATIONS SCRUBB'S REGISTERED TRADE MARK. SOFTENS HARD WATER, SAVES SOAP, TIME AND LABOUR DIRECTIONS FOR USE WASHING. 1. For the laundry (Whites): soak clothes overnight in cold water with one tablespoonful of "Scrubb's" to a pail of water, soaping the most soiled part. in the morning wring them out, put on table and soap well. To wash silk stockings, lingerie, woollens and delicate fabrics. To soapy warm water add a few drops of "Scrubb's" (one teaspoonful to one pint f water as recommended) and wash in the usual way. add the same quantity of "Scrubb's" to the first rinsing water. CLEANING. 1. to remove grease and stains from Clothing, Upholstery, etc. Rub with a piece of flannel steeped in "Scrubbs." It should only be used for fast colours. From the hands-A few drops in in warm water used with a nail brush, will quickly remove oil, grease and dirt from the hands. For ink and other stains use undiluted. 2. To remove iodine and Acid Stains. pour a little "Scrubb's" into a saucer and pace the stained parts in it. rub gently and the stains will disappear. wash in ordinary way. (Fast colours only.) 3. For washing up dishes, etc. A tablespoonful in the washing-up bowl removes all grease, etc. 4. to clean and brighten Silks, Laces and Woollen Goods. Sponge with water containing a little "Scrubb's." It should only be used for fast colours. Jewellery. A few drops of "scrub's" in warm water. Steep articles for a few minutes then wash with soap and water. carpets. Two by three tablespoons- ful to a pail of warm water or it may be used undiluted. Silver or Electr Plate. add to some whitening and water a few drops of "Scrubb's." Floors, Tiles, Glass, Crockery, Marble, Oil Cloth, etc. Use one or two tablespoonsful to a pail of water and practically no soap will be required.' On the right side in red; 'DIRECTIONS-Continued 5.
