Between the words Worthington's and original a scroll pattern crest in white with a black edge, beneath original a black outline dagger on a white shield with trade on the left and mark on the right in white. To the left of the whole written vertically from bottom to top 'ORIGINAL GRAVITY 1049-1053'. To the right of the whole written vertically from top to bottom 'BASS PLC.BURTON-ON-TRENT'. Front neck paper label; 'BY APPOINTMENT H.M. THE QUEEN BREWERS BASS BREWING LTD BURTON ON TRENT ENGLAND' Between the two the Royal crest with prancing lion and unicorn, all in white on a red ground. Beneath which a white ribbon with black edge and 'WHITE SHIELD' in black through the centre. Metal lid; Silver coloured crimped lid cap with a red and white circular design printed on top 'ORIGINAL PALE ALE WHITE SHIELD' with the dagger and shield design in the centre. Embossed lettering around the top 'PLEASE RETURN' and around the base edge '275ml 50mm 3 114 AB265 B 92'.
