Portrait miniature, watercolour painting on ivory, Probably Charles Hoare (1767-1851) by Henry Edridge, RA (Paddington 1769 – London 1821). Signed and dated 1792. Oval. Head and shoulders portrait of a young man, turned to the right, gazing at the spectator, wearing a plum-coloured coat with wide collar, yellow waistcoat, and voluminous white bow tie. Brown eyes, thick powdered hair, pink face with heavy shading under eyebrows, nose and lower lip, aged about 25. Sky background lit from top left.
